Tile by tile – perfectly grouted

Whether on the floor, in the shower or on the wall, tiling requires a high degree of precision and accuracy. To ensure that the results stay enduringly attractive, high-quality adhesives and sealants are important. Ramsauer offers special products for the various individual applications that deliver what they promise and stand the test of time.

Water, heat and cleaning products are no match for Ramsauer’s sealants

To avoid damage in the bathroom caused by cracks in the perimeter joints, it’s crucial to ensure shower trays and bathtubs are properly sealed. After all, their joints have to go the extra mile, especially in places where different components meet. As well as water, heat and aggressive cleaning agents, movements from the individual pieces also demand a great deal from the sealants in wet spaces. To ensure that moisture and dirt don’t stand a chance, the sealants used should have an outstanding grip while being smoothable and easy to apply. Because water only runs off properly on smooth surfaces with a concave shape. We also recommend paying attention to the silicone’s colour as well as its properties. After all, a bathroom should combine both function and aesthetics in equal measure.

  • Fungicidal and bactericidal ingredients prevent mould from forming.
  • Easily applied, ensuring a smooth surface.
  • Able to withstand cleaning agents and disinfectants, preventing joints from wearing.
  • Excellent adhesion even when continuously wet delivers a permanently water-tight seal.
RAMSAUER HOW-TOS
Mould is a common problem in bathrooms on account of high humidity, dirt and warm temperatures. How to prevent mould.

All sealed up – no way in for water

In areas that regularly come into contact with water, the sub-floor must be properly and durably sealed before the flooring is laid. If this isn’t the case, moisture and humidity can spread unnoticed, resulting in expensive structural damage. Professionally sealing bathrooms and lavatories is a multi-faceted job that necessarily involves carrying out multiple tasks and using various materials. To achieve 100% waterproof results, it’s pivotal to ensure that the primer, waterproofing slurry and supplies are a perfect match. If you want to be on the safe side, make sure to use Ramsauer’s specially developed all-in-one solution.

  • Professional-grade materials that offer lasting waterproof protection prevent moisture from getting under floor coverings.
  • Products that complement one another ensure ideal results.

Choosing the right water penetration grade

When picking the right products, it’s vital to pay attention to their water penetration classification. This is graded depending on the level of water exposure. The DIN 18534 and ÖNORM B3407:2015 standards determine these ratings in Germany and Austria, for instance.

Keeping tiles in place long-term

It’s hard to imagine a bathroom or lavatory without tiles. And that should come as no surprise – as well as being hard-wearing, long-lasting and easy to clean, tiles also deliver an impressive visual impact thanks to their versatility. Detailed planning and picking the right tool are key to ensuring that tiles provide a strong hold despite heavy stress and strain from factors such as moisture, heat and chemicals. For great results that last, it should be possible to apply the adhesive quickly and to different materials, even in difficult conditions.

  • When the product cures quickly, this ensures that the tiles are fixed in place quickly.
  • Excellent adhesion on various materials allows for an ideal seal.
  • Low-emission materials are suitable for indoor use.
  • A variety of options for applying the material allows for more potential uses.
